Refund Policy 

At StairGuy, we take pride in delivering high-quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which refunds or adjustments may be issued for services performed or scheduled within the State of Illinois.

Our policy complies with applicable Illinois consumer protection laws, including the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act (815 ILCS 505/), which requires transparency and fair dealing in all transactions.

Because StairGuy provides custom-built, on-site, and design-based services, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis, as most projects involve non-refundable labor, materials, and design work specific to each client’s order.

What to include in the Refund Policy

1.  Deposits and Payments

  • A deposit is typically required to secure materials, scheduling, and design work.
     

  • Deposits are non-refundable once materials have been ordered or work has begun.

  • If a project is canceled within 3 business days of signing the contract and before any work begins, a full refund of the deposit may be issued, in compliance with Illinois’ “Three-Day Right to Cancel” rule for home repair and remodeling contracts.
     

2.  Work Completed and Materials

  • Refunds will not be provided for work already completed or for custom materials that cannot be reused.

  • If defects or errors occur due to workmanship, StairGuy will, at its discretion, repair, replace, or adjust the work to meet the agreed-upon standards before considering a partial refund.
     

3.  Service Satisfaction

  • Customers are encouraged to contact us immediately if any part of their project does not meet expectations.

  • StairGuy will make reasonable efforts to correct issues or offer an equitable resolution in line with Illinois law.
     

4.  In-Home Repairs and Smaller Projects

  • For smaller repairs or maintenance work, cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment to qualify for a refund of any prepayment.

  • Missed appointments or same-day cancellations may result in a service fee deduction from the refund amount.
     

5.  How to Request a Refund

  • All refund requests are reviewed within 10 business days, and approved refunds are processed promptly thereafter.
